Soft plastics represent a challenging waste stream in Australia due to limited recycling pathways, with material often sent to landfill. Resourceful Living provide an end-to-end recycling solution, processing soft plastics into 100 per cent recycled plastic products that can be manufactured into sheets, panels, and fit-for-purpose items.

As part of the engagement, Port Waratah’s Environmental and Procurement department representatives visited Resourceful Living’s facility to verify the recycling process and observe the manufacture and application of end products. This site visit provided assurance on material handling, processing methods and the quality and suitability of recycled products for reuse in an industrial environment.

Through this initiative, Port Waratah is able to divert soft plastics from landfill and has the opportunity to repurchase recycled products for reuse onsite, supporting circular economy principles by closing the loop between waste generation and product use.

This initiative demonstrates Port Waratah’s commitment to continuous improvement in waste management through practical, verified solutions that reduce environmental impact and support resource efficiency.
