Ensuring rapid response to dust impacts

The quality of the air in our communities is of the highest priority. Monitoring dust levels and acting responsibly is critical to our operations.

We understand dust is one of the key environmental concerns for our neighbouring communities and we go to great lengths to minimise dust throughout our operations.

We use a network of real time dust monitors within site boundaries to report onsite dust concentration measurements. The information is live and monitored by our operations personnel who receive notification via our SCADA system of any trending elevation in dust levels.

In 2025, we doubled our spare dust monitors across both terminals to enable rapid recovery of the Real Time Dust Monitoring (RTDM) network and maintain resilience ensuring we meet our obligations.
