Electric vehicles join the Port Waratah fleet
The arrival of these vehicles represents a key milestone in the delivery of Port Waratah’s Climate Action Plan and our efforts to reduce Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions.
Scope 1 emissions comprise a small proportion of Port Waratah’s overall emissions profile. The introduction of EVs is a practical action to reduce emissions while maintaining safe and reliable operations.
Dedicated EV parking and charging infrastructure has been established with monitoring of vehicle utilisation and charging performance.
This initial deployment provides valuable operational insights that will inform future fleet replacement decisions and support longer-term planning for lower-emission light vehicle solutions aligned with Port Waratah’s climate action objectives.
