Driving sustainability through innovation and investment

A new sweeper truck is improving operations at both Kooragang and Carrington terminals.

We have invested in improving operational efficiency, safety and environmental performance with a new purpose-built Sweeper truck that will service both terminals.

This new vehicle is a substantial upgrade from the previous sweeper asset, employing a regenerative sweeping system using internal filtration to eliminate dust emissions and lower maintenance requirements. Other safety features include 360-degree cameras, pedestrian proximity alerts, dust suppression sprays, ergonomic driver features and advanced control functions.

Versatility of the new truck also extends to sump and drain vacuuming allowing Port Waratah to complete these jobs in-house, at either terminal, improving our responsiveness to manage potential environmental hazards.
