Port Waratah’s operations are bordered by the Hunter Estuary and Hunter River and as such we are very aware of the flora and fauna which live in and around our operations.
Our operations implement a Biodiversity Management Plan to ensure sustainable stewardship of the land which we own, lease and manage.
The plan ensures that we not only protect and respect the native flora and fauna but are proactively working to manage weeds and pests.
Our employees and contractors undergo training so they understand and know what to do if they are undertaking activities which may impact flora or fauna, as well as what to do if they come across wildlife on our site.
